Bob’s Five-Alarm Chili
Ingredient List
- ¼ lb bacon, 1 lb ground beef, 3 hot
Italian Sausages
- ½ large onion
- 5 cloves garlic
- Chili beans, white beans can or frozen
corn
- Medium can crushed tomatoes
- Salt, black pepper, cayenne pepper, chili
powder, basil, oregano and parsley
Procedure
- Cut ¼ lb bacon in small pieces and start
cooking. As it begins to cook, add 2 tbs vegetable oil
- Chop ½ of a large onion – not too small,
chop up 5 cloves garlic – add these to the bacon and oil
- Add 1 tsp salt, ½ tsp black pepper, 1 tbs
crushed red pepper
- When onion is starting to cook add 1 lb
ground beef and 2-3 links of hot Italian sausage removed from the casings. Let
all this brown well
- While meat is browning add ½ tsp more
salt, 1 tbs Emerils seasoning, 2 tbs chili powder, ½ - 1 tsp cayenne pepper, 1
tbs dry basil, 2 tbs dry parsley, 2 tsp dry oregano. Break up the meat as it is
cooking – add 1 tbs kitchen bouquet
- Add 1 medium can tomato sauce and 1 can
chili beans,1 can white beans and one can of corn or 2 cups frozen corn
- Stir together and let all this simmer for
at least 45 minutes, the longer it cooks the hotter is gets
Serving suggestion – serve with Hebrew
National Kosher all beef hot dogs and cover with a pile of shredded cheese.
