29:006 Fall 2009 -- Curve for Exam 1
- The scores posted on ICON are raw scores, i.e., the
number of correct answers. The curve shown below is an approximate
indication of how your raw score translates into a letter grade. It is
approximate in the sense that your semester grade will be determined by the
curve for the overall composite scores (Exam 1 + Exam 2 + Final Exam). The
curve on a given exam is shown to give you an approximate indication of your
relative standing in the class. The curve on the composite scores will
include plusses and minuses.
- The curve is determined so that the grades comply as
closely as possible with the College of Liberal Arts recommended grade
distributions for an elementary course:
A: 15% B: 34%
C: 40% D: 8% F: 3%
with a class GPA =
2.50.
