Description:
This is the first semester of a two-semester sequence covering electrodynamics. This semeser will cover electrostatics, magnetostatics, and electric and magnetic fields in matter - approximately corresponding to Ch. 1-6 in the book. We will focus on building a strong conceptual understanding of electrodynamics and develeoping skills and experience in problem solving. This course utilizes vector calculus extensively. Reading and homework assignments will be given in class and on the course web page. The three weekly lectures are given by Prof. Halekas.
