In addition to the required text (Fetter and Walecka) I mentioned two other books that you may want to look at this semester. The first is Classical Mechanics by Herbert Goldstein. This book is a good reference on most topics, but is more like an encyclopaedia than a textbook. The other book is Mechanics (volume 1 of Landau and Lifshitz). This is book elegant but perhaps a bit terse. In future years I may choose a different text so your feedback is welcome.
