  Another experimental group at Iowa, dealing largely with RF discharge plasmas.
• Space Physics-Plasma Waves
  Group headed by Dr. Donald Gurnett, studying plasma waves in planetary magnetospheres. Also associated with the group is the Outer Planets Subnode of NASA's Planetary Data System.
• Space Physics - Theory and HYDRA
  Group headed by Dr. Jack Scudder, HYDRA is an instrument on the POLAR spacecraft, measuring ion and electron velocity distributions in earth's polar magnetosphere.
• Space Physics - Particles and Imaging
  Group headed by Dr. Louis Frank, studying particle interactions in planetary magnetospheres. Included are updated pictures from the POLAR visual imaging system.
• Space Physics - Pioneer 10&11 Gieger Tube Telescope
  This group, headed by Dr. James Van Allen, is analyzing charged particle data collected by the Pioneer 10 & 11 spacecraft, the most distant man-made spacecraft, which are currently on route for the heliopause.

  A Division of the American Physical Society which deals mainly with basic plasma and fusion sciences.
• The American Geophysical Union
  A mulitdisciplinary society, the AGU contains the largest society of space scientists, and space plasma physicists. In addition, JGR-Space Physics (blue) is the premier journal for dissemination of space plasma research.
• The American Vacuum Society
  The AVS is the largest organization of industrial plasma researchers. Driven by the needs of the semiconductior industry, the AVS sponsors a large program in basic plasma science and technology.

• The Internet Plasma Physics Education Experience
  A site hosted by the Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory this site provides a wealth of information on fusion science, suitable for middle school and high school science students.
• The Fusion Education Web
  A subnode of the IPPEX, this site contains education information for students at the high school level and above. This site also contains many informative tutorials on fusion and basic plasma science.
• The Aurora Page
  Here is a plethora of educational information about the aurora borealis, the "northern lights". The aurora was man's first encounter with natural plasma, and continues to be a hotbed of space physics research.
• Exploration of Earth's Magnetosphere
  An introduction to the physics of Earth's magnetosphere, a region of trapped plasma within the Earth's magnetic field that gives rise to many interesting phenomena.
