Eligibility

To be eligible for the Strayer-Rairden Scholarship in Physics, students must:

• be from the state of Iowa
• have applied for admission to The University of Iowa and declared physics or astronomy as their major

Application Deadline

The packet of application materials must be postmarked no later than January 31.

Selection Criteria

A committee from the Department of Physics and Astronomy will review applications. The winner will be selected based on academic promise in physics or astronomy as judged by the department, and the quality of the essay contained in the application materials.
