Staff Changes

The past year saw many changes in the Department, including additions and departures.

We'd like to wish the best of luck to Roger Anderson, Joyce Chrisinger, and Steve Hauser who retired this June. Incredibly the three of them combined have almost a century of service to the Department.

Those moving on include Ajey Jacob, Scott Kahler, Avinash Khare, Michael Leuenberger, Jason Maron, Robin Paterson, William Paterson, Cheryl Reardon, John Sigwarth, Mary Ann Spilger, Sandra Wagner, and Xiaogang Wang.

We'd also like to welcome to the Department Chuanshun Cao, Michael Ciha, Chris Coretsopoulos, Wolfgang Mader, Heather Mineart, Yunong Qi, Aaron Votroubek, Edward West, and Hui Zhao.

Mary Jo Small Fellowship Award

Instructional Resource Specialist, Dale Stille, was awarded a Mary Jo Small Fellowship this year. The award was used to pay partial expenses for him to attend the national American Association of Physics Teachers (AAPT) meeting in Sacramento, CA where he was in charge of the Physics Instructional Resource Association (PIRA) Resource Room as part of his Vice Presidential duties. Also at this meeting Dale was chosen as Co-Leader of the PIRA Lecture Demo Workshop for the next two years.

Dale is also now the AAPT President Elect of PIRA , and one of the duties of that office will involve organizing a paper session for the 2005 AAPT meeting in Salt Lake City, UT.
