Traveling from Cedar Rapids (Interstate 380):
Take Interstate 380 South to Interstate 80 East.
Take Interstate 80 to Exit 244.
Go south on Dubuque Street to Jefferson Street.
Van Allen Hall is located on the southeast corner of the intersection.
Traveling from Interstate 80:
Take Interstate 80 to Exit 244.
Go south on Dubuque Street to Jefferson Street.

Traveling from Highway 218:
Take Exit #89 off of Hwy 218, this is the first exit for Iowa City.
This exit takes you directly to Riverside Drive, which is a main road.
Stay on Riverside Drive going north into Iowa City. Turn right onto
Burlington Street (the 3rd stoplight). Get in the left lane. You will
turn left at Clinton Street (the 3rd stoplight). Drive three blocks
to Jefferson Street. Turn right on Jefferson Street (this is a one-way
street). Van Allen Hall will be one block down on Jefferson Street
on the southeast corner of Jefferson and Dubuque.
Parking
Parking
ramps located in downtown Iowa City are available for parking, which
are a 1 to 5 minute walk from the Physics and Astronomy Department (cost
is approximately $4.00/day (24 hours)).
On the weekends and in the evenings after 5:00pm on weekdays, many
of the University parking lots are free. The closest University lot
to Van Allen Hall is Lot 2 located approximately one block east of Van
Allen Hall on Gilbert Street (just south of Jefferson Street). Note:
If you choose to park in Lot 2, do not park in the row closest to Seashore
Hall, as it is restricted to permit parking only.
