Qualifying Exam
The qualifying exam is taken in August by graduate students entering their second or third year of graduate study for Ph.D. The student must receive permission from the Associate Chair in order to postpone taking this exam. The student has two attempts to pass this exam and must pass in order to continue toward the Ph.D.
