If you should at any time receive an inquiry from, or for any reason discuss University business with, elected officials at the state or federal level, staff, or other political or public officials, please inform the Office of Governmental Relations. If it is an inquiry that requires a formal response, please review the proposed response with this office. Centralized coordination of legislative contacts and responses will help to assure consistency, accuracy and completeness of UI communications with our elected officials and will enable our legislative liaisons to represent the University as effectively as possible. If you have questions or concerns, contact Derek Willard (Special Assistant to the President for Governmental Relations) or Mark Braun (State Relations Officer). During the session, if you are unable to contact either one, please contact Norine Zamastil at 5-3714 and she will be sure to forward messages on to them. More information on the Office of Governmental Relations can be found here.
All registration should accurately reflect the amount and type of work undertaken, the use of University facilities, and the amount of consultation with the faculty. The student should register for the courses, research, and thesis necessary to complete the Plan of Study.
