Iowa City is a fun place to live. There are many attractions and events that are popular with graduate students. For example, the Iowa Arts Festival attracts people to downtown Iowa City, just a few steps from where our department is located.
Chinese new year celebration    
International students will enjoy many friends and events in Iowa City. Here, children perform a Dragon Dance for an audience of hundreds of people at the annual Chinese New Year's celebration. On Saturdays, these youths attend Chinese School classes that are organized by parents in Iowa City. Students from other countries also organize events.
