General Astronomy: Exploring the Solar System

Course Goals:

• an introduction to astronomy for students majoring in the sciences
• an introduction to the astrophysics of the Solar System using some mathematics and physics
• an understanding of the night sky and astronomical phenomena
• an introduction to astronomical observing techniques and research projects
